You will depart from London towards Leeds Castle, on our journey we will drive through Greenwich where the famous Cutty Sark resides along with the Royal Observatory.
Leeds Castle is surrounded by a natural lake and was once described by Lord Conway as “the loveliest castle in the world”, it is surrounded by more than 500 acres of gardens and parklands. Your guide for the day will show you around this wonderful Castle before normal opening hours to the general public, this will give you a great and unique opportunity to get a real feel for the atmosphere of quiet tranquility and really feel the magic of this great attraction. You will also be offered time to wonder around the grounds of the Castle by yourself,and during this time you will see the “Lady Baillie Garden” and take in the views of the Lake and see the aviary and even have time to get lost in the popular maze.
The tours then head over to Canterbury, while on our journey we will go through Kent, popularly known as the “Garden of England”! Once we arrive at Canterbury we will visit the spectacular Cathedral, it is one of the most important Churches in the world of the Anglican faith. The crypt of the Cathedral dates back to the 11th Century, while the “Bell Harry Tower” was built in 1498! Your guide will take you through the Cathedrals colourful history including the awful murder of Thomas Beckett in 1170, after the tour you will also have some time to wonder the tiny streets surrounding the Cathedral.
